Special
shoes are necessary equipment for climbing sport. Climbing shoes are
absolutely indispensable thing to start going in for climbing. Climbing
shoes are footwear specially simulated and fitting foot from natural
or imitation chamois leather with a rubber sole. As a rule, they are
laced up, but there are hook-and-loop fasteners. There are different
types of rubber: firm and almost not stretching or very soft, which
stretch for 2-3 sizes. Also there are thin and thick rubber. There
are different types of sole: a straight line, repeating the form or
foot and bent.
Choosing the first climbing shoes it is not necessary to be too strict
and it is important to follow the professional’s advice. The most
true advice is to buy comfortable, enough soft and not bent trainers. If
you are going to climb at climbing school will approach soft shoes. For
climbing on a natural relief, probably, will be more preferable climbing
shoes with firm rubber. On the average shoes wear out more half a year,
but the time of wearing out depends on many factors. It is the frequency
of climbing and the thickness of rubber, your technical skills and features
of a relief. In general, the longest time you can wear it – is more
a year, but if you have trainers of not a high quality it wear out for
some months.
It is necessary to dry climbing shoes after every wearing, and never to
keep them in a polyethylene package. Trainers constantly absorb moisture
of your foot and if you dry it not enough, very soon they won’t have
nice smell and it is possible they will decay.
If there is a hole on climbing shoes, and you haven’t money for purchase
a new pair of it, don't give way to despair, there are the repair shops
which can repair your old shoes. Such pleasure will cost much cheaper to
you than to purchase new ones. However my brother would like to have new
shoes.
